About Larkhill

A Unique Location

Larkhill Tipis and Yurts is set amongst woodland
with breathtaking views of the Welsh countryside

With over 15 years of welcoming guests, we believe that Larkhill Tipis and Yurts offers a truly unique glamping experience.

As soon as you turn off the road you will be met with breathtaking panoramic views over the Welsh countryside. Our Tipis and Yurts are set on the edge of a enchanting four acre woodland, each having its own secluded spot. Quirky stepping stones and fairy lights lead the way through the trees providing a magical family adventure or a romantic escape for couples.

Our family run glamping site also prides itself as providing an eco-friendly and sustainable holiday with a focus on our guests enjoying the nature and the wildlife that surrounds it.

We are set in a wonderful location - within easy reach by car of Cardigan Bay and Carmarthen Bay. The list of sandy beaches is long, as well as there being plenty of other glorious scenery, activities and days out for the kids.

A site that environmentally friendly and full of nature. A beautiful, remote place that will definitely be revisited by us.

How to find Us

Larkhill Tipis and Yurts is based in Carmarthenshire, West Wales, twelve miles north of the town of Carmarthen and an hour and a half drive from Cardiff along the M4.

Directions / How to find Us

Warning! Sat Nav does not always take you to our door!

From the M4 and Carmarthen

When entering Carmarthen on the A48 (continuation of M4) follow the H signs for the Hospital. After the Hospital (on your left) take the next right (second exit on the mini roundabout) on to the A484 north for Cardigan. After the village of Cwmduad take the next left (signposted National Woollen Museum). Carry on for just over mile and look out for the Larkhill sign on your right. Turn here and take the first fork to the left.

From the North and Aberystwyth

From Aberystwyth take the A487 south to Synod Inn. At Synod Inn take a left onto the A486 toward Llandysul. After 9 miles take the second exit at the roundabout staying on the A486. At the bottom of the hill at the next roundabout take the second exit, again staying on the A486. After two miles at the T junction take a left onto the A484. After the village of Rhos take the next right (signposted National Woollen Museum). Carry on for just over a mile and look out for the Larkhill sign on your right. Turn here and take the first fork to the left.

Public Transport

Really feel you're doing your bit for the environment by using public transport to get to us. We can collect you from either the train station or bus station in Carmarthen free of charge, or from the local bus stop (just over a mile from the campsite). If we collect you from Carmarthen we will stop at shops en route for you to get any food you need, or alternatively take you to local shops once you have arrived.

To get to us by train

The nearest train station to us is Carmarthen station. If you would like we can collect you from here or you could get the 460/461 bus from directly outside the station.

To get to us by bus

From Carmarthen take the 460/461 heading to Cardigan. Get off the bus the stop after Cwmduad (Ty Coch - pronounced Tee Koch!) which is at the first road junction on the left after Cwmduad – signposted to the National Woollen Museum. It is then a walk of just over a mile along this road and you will see on your right hand side a sign with the name Larkhill on it. Turn right here and follow the track down until you come to the wind generators. Turn left here.

There is also a scheme brought in by the local council called Bwcabus (Book a Bus) which enables customers to 'book' a bus to collect you from the top of our track and take you to the nearest bus stop in order to travel further afield. Its possible to book this service by logging on to http://www.traveline-cymru.info/bwcabus/
