An excellent find, not to remote but far enough away from noise allowing you to relax, the log burner was brilliant and really kept us warm and cosy, the facilities were enough to allow us to cook and shower and the toilet was clean a great couple of nights stay, we will return.

Can't rave about this place enough. Highly recommended location to escape to. I've been visiting Larkhill on off for over a decade. I had a 5 year gap due to having children and returned last year to warm and friendly hosts that to my surprise remembered me which was lovely. I hope to return next year with my 2 children so they too can experience the magic. Thank you !

Larkhill is a truly magical place! I booked the bentwood yurt for my birthday and the rest of my family liked the look of Larkhill so much they booked the Tipi and Lavvu too. We had a wonderful time sitting around the campfire making paella and roasting marshmallows. We can't wait to go back next year!

Love our stays at Larkhill Tipi and Yurts. The hosts are lovely and nothing is too much troubke. We've been here twice now and will certainly be returning. My now 9 year old loves it here as he can explore the site, play on the adventure playground and roast marshmallows on the camp fire. My 17 year olds mental health improved drastically while we were here and she was away from social media. We have stayed in the Tipi and the Lavvu, both a fab experience. The log burner inside is a perfect touch and made the stay all cosy and warm when the temperature dropped at night.
I feel we will always return to Larkhill Tipis and Yurts. It's very picturesque and now holds a special place in out hearts ????

We had an incredible stay here in the Mongolian ger. The entire area is awe-inspiring and very kid-friendly, with lots of things to explore and discover. Plenty of really thoughtful touches and amazing attention to detail that's accumulated over the years. The host Catherine was extremely friendly and accommodating, and even introduced us to the baby goats despite a busy day on the farm. It's a truly magical place and highly recommended for a unique holiday.

We have spent two amazing holidays here, both over the new year period in average weather. The yurts are cosy, comfortable and Fran and Tony were so welcoming to our family. There is a communal kitchen and fire pit which was great to meet up with others of the same mindset. It’s the perfect break if you want to get away from tech and back to nature!!

We have just returned from our first family holiday here. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable. Despite the unseasonably wet weather we were warm and cosy in our Yurt, some of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. The whole site is so thoughtfully put together, providing both privacy and a sense of community. The lodge house has everything you need to cook a proper meal, and the communal campfire provided much conversation and entertainment in the evenings. The site has everything you need to camp in comfort, plenty of woodland for children to safely explore and perfectly situated to enjoy the various attractions of the area. Having just returned home we are already planning our return visit, it was the best holiday we've had in years in comparison to overpriced soulless caravan parks.

It was very quirky. The kids loved it. The lavvu we stayed in was lovely and spacious, comfortable and fun. The facilities were very well thought out and clean. The communal washing/cooking/roasting marshmallows covered areas were really well received with a few colour books and games and instruments that made the stay that bit more memorable!

Me, my younger brother and my father came here to have a nice relaxing holiday, and it EXCEEDED our expectations. The beds were comfy, the room was cosy, the log cabin was amazing, and the staff were absolutely lovely. There was a lot to do around the place, such as laying at the hammocks, simply walking, or even going to the park the people there have built! The toilets were usable along with the showers and cooking equipment provided, and the decorations were great.10/10 would recommend going.

Liked · Truly…everything. If a rural getaway in beautiful surroundings, off grid and plenty of fresh air with a soupçon of magic is what you’re after (as we were), then you’re in for a treat! The beds were surprisingly comfortable, the log burners were great to take the chill off (we came in autumn), the fairy lights were magical, the views impressive…the thought that has gone into the amenities and workings of this site is nothing short of genius. The adults and kids loved it alike. Definitely a safe space to let kids explore and enjoy discovering new things and friends…ideal.

Hosts Fran & Tony were brilliant. Excellent glamping experience, stayed in a Ger in the woods, which was very cosy, comfortable & well kitted out. Wood burning stove inside for heating & a fire pit outside. Around the latter of which our evenings were mainly spent, enjoying log fires under a canopy of trees, most enjoyable stay, simply magical.

We stayed for a weekend at Larkhill in the Mongolian Ger on a rainy weekend at the beginning of September and enjoyed every second of it! Fran and family have created a truly magical place for people to relax and enjoy the woodland around them. If you are passionate about eco friendly living you will love Larkhill. Their renewable energy projects, recycling and woodland management are inspiring.
The Mongolian Ger was a special experience in itself. The wood burner quickly warms up creating a lovely cosy feel and at night it was lovely looking up through the clear window in the top of yurt at the stars. We didn't get to cook on the open fire outside due to the weather, but had no problems making a meal on the gas stove inside the yurt, plus there was the added option of the well equipped kitchen in the cabin if we'd needed it. Our favourite part of our stay was exploring all the hidden paths, sculptures and surprises throughout the woodland. Our daughters aged 8 and 10 were in their element creating their own mini adventures and discovering new places the whole weekend. Thank you Fran, Tony & Catherine for making our stay such a memorable experience xxx

Wonderful Last minute break!
We booked the Brentwood Yurt last minute to end off the October school break for the 4 of us.
We had a bit of a terrible journey and didn’t reach Larkhill until Very late and Fran so very kindly waited up for us getting us settled and showing us round briefly.
When morning light revealed our surroundings we were stunned, situated in the middle of the woodland amongst the trees with so many different nook and crannies to explore the kids were in there element.
We were unlucky to have a bit of wet and windy weekend but it didn’t put us off we toasted marshmallows In the fire pit and made hot chocolate.
The facilities are great, 2 toilets and 2 showers with hot water.
The hut with shared facilities were great for us to make our breakfast and do any washing up.
It was peaceful, very well kept. And as someone who doesn’t camp it was very much glamping!
We cannot wait to return!

Upon our arrival we met a very friendly and welcoming Fran who gave us a tour around the facilities and explained how everything worked and where everything was. The yurt we stayed in had a lovely cosy feel to it. It was just the right size for a family of four. The yurt had a small stove on which we could make a hot drink and a cool box was provided also to keep anything we needed chilled. Our first night was a very cold -1 but thankfully the yurt had a an extra supply of blankets which came in very handy. The wood burner inside the yurt was easy to use and kept us lovely and warm, we were able to have a basket of kindling and logs per day to use and any extra we used we would pay for.
The communal log cabin was available to use for washing up and for cooking (gas cooker) and had everything you could need to use in a kitchen, from saucepans to colanders. You could also buy duck or chicken eggs for your breakfast. You could also charge your phones etc inside the log cabin too.
The facilities were excellent, even the compost loo.
Enjoyed every minute staying here, Fran; such a lovely and friendly host, Tony and Catherine have worked hard to provide a fantastic place which makes you think about how all the things you do and use have an effect on the environment and how small changes can make a big difference.
Would definitely recommend.

We have just returned from a beautifully relaxing week staying in the Mongolian Yurt at Larkhill. It was lovely and cosy with a gorgeous woodburner. All the wood is free and is top quality. Fran and Tony are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. They are full of recommendations about where to go and what to do. The campsite has everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen where we did all of our cooking. Fran and Tony made a camp fire each night for people to sit around and chat. It was all very covid safe with plenty of cleaning equipment. Local beaches are around a half hour drive away, Pembrokshire coast around an hour. Cardigan and Carmarthan are around 30 mins away. Lots of outdoor canoeing/kayaking options close by so theres plenty of choice. We did loads over the week and felt we really explored the area. We loved Tenby and cafe Mor at Freshwater West. Highly recommended

In a cookie cutter world staying at Larkhill is a really different experience. A place to connect you to nature and a great stopping off point for surrounding area, within reach of beaches and charming countryside. Lovingly crafted dwellings, artwork in the wooded areas, eco-creds, privacy, comfort with some sharing of shower/bathroom facilities (without ever feeling obtrusive since it's a small site). This isn't an 'off the shelf' glamp - there's much fulfilment to it than that. Here you'll have the chance to build your own warm fire, recharge and feel part of it. With thoughtful hosts who know what you need (from fresh farm eggs to pre-cut wood for the fire) this is a place to stay to chill. We saw sheets of stars in the skies at night and heard a lovely chorus of birds at dawn. A wonderfully magic place to stay!

If you want to escape and love nature and woodland, as we do, then this is the place for you. I have stayed at other yurt places, but this is the best throught out. We loved having our own campfire just outside the yurt. The shower, although 'off grid' was clean, hot and actually rather luxurious with lovely 'Faith in Nature' shampoo. Our kids would have loved to play in the woods when they were younger, but we hadn't discovered Larkhill back then.

What an amazing experience! Not only is this place beautiful, Fran is also very friendly and welcoming. We’ve been camping and “glamping” before, but this was something a little different. We stayed in the Mongolian Ger and it was so homely and clean (and so were the showers and toilets). We had a fantastic stay in one of the yurts over the New Year. The yurt was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed, and it was fantastic and warm thanks to the log burner, which was perfect after long walks! Everyone at the site was very welcoming and ensured we had a brilliant stay, and even helped us to organise massages in our yurt, which were also brilliant! We would highly recommend the yurt to anyone wishing to explore Wales.

Stayed on the 24/12/2018 and was so cosy when we got the wood burning stove lit the heat was amazing inside the Yurt. There were 6 of us and a real old world at one with nature atmosphere. Owners are welcoming and everything is provided for you. Would recommended in an instant especially for children. A real adventure!!

We stayed in an Iranian yurt. It was a fabulous experience. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Everything is eco friendly. The owners could not do enough for us. I would thoroughly recommend this place. You literally can just turn up with nothing but food and clothes. Beautiful location and stunning scenery.

What a mystical magical place!!! With a teen, 10yr old and 9yr old sometimes its hard to please but this place ticked every box. From busy everyday life getting away as a family to somewhere peaceful means a big thing to us, and this is a place that my girls will remember, from campfire stew to long walks to hot chocolate at night snugged in our sleeping bags. It was so special and well and well looked after by fantastic Fran! We will definitely be back and hopefully stay longer to visit more of the pretty places close by..Thanks Fran &Toni xx

The attention to detail in the forest trail for the children, the lights that lit up the walk ways in the night are beautiful and the luxury of two great hosts who are there when you need fresh eggs or an extra freezer block for your cool box. We have already booked up to return in the next couple of months!

Having been recommended by friends to stay here, we gave it a go and it was fabulous! We stayed in the Mongolian Ger and it was so comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, you only need to take your food and sleeping bag. There isn’t a local shop as such but the nearest one is about 5 miles away. We had fantastic weather so went to llangregnog beach one of days the Tresaith beach the other. These beaches are around a 30 minute drive and were both lovely (I preferred Tresaith as it was so pretty). My friend wanted to watch the England match somewhere for one of the days so the owner Fran kindly found out which pubs locally it was being shown at which was really very kind of her. You can tell a lot of hard work and love has gone in to making this site most beautiful and rather spiritual. We also visited the Malindi Centre nearby for Omni healing which was also great. What a fantastic break we had in such a beautiful setting. I would recommend to anyone!

This place is a hidden GEM...don't tell everyone or they may spoil it.
Magical surroundings, stunning art/wood carvings and super helpful, friendly owners.
The Yurt was spotless, comfortable and cosy. Facilities had absolutely everything we needed, and more.
We sat up late by a roaring fire charring and unwinding,
Will DEFINITELY BE VISITING AGAIN - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We've been camping many times and we love the outside but I can honestly say this was the best place we have ever stayed at.
Everything was perfect (apart from the weather). Fran and Tony were fabulous hosts and their attention to detail is astounding. From the detailed map on how to get there, to the wet weather board everything was organised perfectly.
The walks through the forest were fantastic and our little boy loved spotting all the statues and carvings. The views from the fields were breathtaking and the whole place was just so tranquil. Just what we needed to refresh ourselves.
The yurt itself was very comfortable, my little boy is scared of the dark so the added bonus of solar paneled led lights around the roof of the yurt was very welcomed. Everything you could possible need is supplied. All you need to take is food for your camp fire, sleeping bags and towels.
On a final note, if you do go there you must try the fresh eggs for breakfast and take home a delicious jar of honey. Seriously its amazing!
Thankyou so much for our wonderful stay Fran and Tony. We loved every minute of it.

We booked to stay in the Mongolian Ger for 2 nights and couldn’t have enjoyed it more! We didn’t want too leave. The owner Fran was lovely and so friendly and helpful. The facilities are amazing from the toilets and showers to the communal kitchen area! The Ger had a wood burner inside which kept us really toasty even the rain. The location is great, not far to take day trips to lots of places but also feel nice and cut off from the outside world which is great if that’s what you are looking for from your break! Surrounded by nature and wildlife. We loved it and can’t wait to return.

Special place in the trees, handmade with love by Fran and Tony. We enjoyed : manhunt in the woods; handmade yin/yang stepping stones leading to your yurt; the pizza oven; wood burning stove in the yurt; going to the beach; the castle at Newcastle Emlyn. You'll love it if you like a bit of comfort but think the whole glamping thing has got too Sunday supplement. Enjoy the real thing in Larkhill

My Husband took me as a surprise getaway and he could not have picked a more beautiful place. Very friendly hosts and the accommodation was perfect. A site that environmentally friendly and full of nature. A beautiful, remote place that will definitely be revisited by us.

We went on 30th December for a couple of nights to see in the new year. We were 2 family’s of 4 with children from 2-11 years old, what an amazing friendly place in beautiful settings. Tony & Fran are the most helpful and welcoming hosts you could ask for nothing is to much trouble. We had the Brentwood Yurt & The Lavuu. And they are great well laid out and very authentic and in keeping with your surroundings. All the amenities on site are great also. 10/10 from the 8 of us! Can’t wait to come back in the dryer months. But to sum it up I couldn’t think of a better way to get out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life!

We first went to Larkhill as a little couples break for my partner and I last September, we've been four times now and love it, tomorrow I start building my own Mongolian bentwood yurt inspired by our holiday home at Larkhill. The couple who run the site are lovely friendly and helpful, the local sights are plentiful with lots to see and do within easy reach. Beautiful tranquil (usually, avoid weekends if you want a quiet break), we'll definitely be returning even when I finish my own yurt! Can't recommend it higher enough. Go, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I got engaged at Larkhill on our first visit, it was the most perfect setting, and form that day on it will always have a special place in our hearts.
We returned on 3 occasions to follow as we wanted to see the site in different seasons and to share it with our friends. Whether the sun is shining or not - its perfect and enchanting. We also had the pleasure of witnessing the site in snow on one occasion which was increadibly romantic. The last time we visited was last summer for two nights and 3 days on our honeymoon - for which we darted from glamping site to glamping site around beautiful West Wales. Our conclusion was that Larkhill is the most comfortable and accommodating for all weathers - We could quite happily live there!
We're now planning this years visits!

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. The moment I arrived I realised our break would be far too short and we'd need more time in this magical place. Beautiful surrounds, great accommodation, lots of lovely little touches to make our stay special. We'll definitely be back.
