The log cabin serves as a communal ‘hub’ for all of our guests.
Here you will find all of the pots and pans, cooking utensils, crockery etc that you will need for your self-catering stay. The log cabin has a full size calor gas cooker with an oven, a wood-burning stove, a power supply for charging mobile phones (mobile phone reception here is good), battery charging, etc, a sink for washing up, table and chairs and bench seating adorned with sheepskins and cushions.
Recycling facilities are located in the log cabin and you can purchase our chicken and duck eggs here, honey made by our bees or spoil yourselves with some of our niche Larkhill T shirts or Tea Towels.
We also have a corner dedicated to tourist information of the local area, the nicest beaches, many books on walks in west Wales, local attractions, details on best places to eat and best places to buy food.
You'll also find board games, playing cards and some toys for the little ones.
It wouldn't be a family holiday without a play area!
Many of our younger guests thoroughly enjoy the play area and also the woodland surrounding it. We encourage den building and exploring the woods to discover nature, viewing this as an important part of the Larkhill experience. A game of man hunt at the end of the day is a ‘must’ for the kids!
Illustrator Alex Crampton has created a wonderful creative activity pack for children. This includes a colouring in map of Larkhill and an activity that can get the kids exploring while they stay. You can download these and print before you come to stay.
A great place to sit and enjoy an outdoor fire and to chat with other guests - no matter what the weather!
Located in front of the log cabin there is an all-weather campfire area. Many marshmallows have been toasted here in the evenings amongst fairy lights which light the paths - a magical atmosphere.
Included in your stay is a basket of firewood - any extra is £5.00 a basket.
Feel like you’re showering outside!
There are two hot showers, both of which have a lot of natural light flowing through the roof. We also have a tiled compost loo (praised by many of our guests!) and a bog standard flush loo! All cleaning products used are environmentally friendly, and we supply eco friendly shampoo, conditioner and soap.
