So what’s new for 2023 at Larkhill?

Super Green Holidays! Energy Revolutionaries! 

It’s all a bit hush hush… but we do have a pretty exciting project in the works here for 2023. We have been working with a team of very clever chaps to revolutionize our eco glamping site. As guests who have visited us know, we have been off grid here at Larkhill for over 30 years. Our eco-holiday site currently harnesses the power of wind, solar and water to generate electricity for our home and the Log Cabin. Despite our renewable off grid system we are still reliant on diesel to run a generator for the occasions when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing! In an effort to remove the diesel we got thinking, “what’s the way forward”? And the greenest energy just has to be….  HYDROGEN!  We can’t divulge too much information yet, but we are really looking to sharing our exciting new eco technology once it’s up and running! 

New Park!

As many of you will know our park has been loved by children for a long time and we definitely need to replace it. We are hoping to make use of recycled materials and possibly move the park to the bottom woodland - we would love a tree house too! We asked our guests via Facebook last year for some ideas and it became one of our most popular social media posts of all time. Our guests had some great ideas which we can't wait to put into action. 

Workshops & Retreats

Last year the incredibly knowledgeable mycologist Mike Bright came to stay and offer a course on Fungi. Mike kindly donated his time and knowledge to a group of guests and friends. We walked around our glamping site and were stunned with the amount of different fungi we have here. Over 20 varieties including Jelly Babies, Sulphur Tuft, Milkcaps and different types of Brackets. 

We had such a great time on the course which enthused us with the prospect of having similar courses, workshops or retreats here. If you have any ideas or have any skills you would like to share in exchange for a little Larkhill Holiday, please do get in touch for a chat. 

Same price all-year-around Holidays

As we have always done, this year we will once again be offering holidays in our Tipis and Yurts for the same price during the school holidays as it is normally - no school holiday price hikes! We appreciate that this year, possibly more than any other, with the cost of inflation it may be even harder for families to  get a holiday away. Many families are forced to take their children out of school in order to afford a holiday, which we just don’t think is fair.
