When the temperature drops and frost sparkles across the landscape, glamping can be a cosy experience!. Here at Larkhill Tipis and Yurts winter glamping offers a way to experience nature without sacrificing warmth or comfort!

Is a Yurt Warm in the Winter? 

Our yurts are well equipped to glamp in all-year-around. Specially designed for the West Wales winters, we have handmade our yurts with cosy fleece linings to keep the heat in and the cold out. Each of our yurts has a large wood burning log stove, keeping everything toasty! Imagine waking up to the crackling fire and listening to the birds singing outside. 

Do you have Log Burner Fires?

Each of our yurts has a log burner, it’s the heart of any winter glamping experience. We have all the kindling and logs available that you’ll need for your stay. Much of it is grown here in our own woodland!

Welsh Blankets

When you stay with us you can choose to either bring your own bedding or we will provide it. . What we will always provide are many cosy layers of blankets! Each yurt has a huge wooden chest of them, so you never have to worry about bringing extra bedding. 

The Dark Skies

One benefit of glamping in the winter is the opportunity to be out in the dark to see the amazing starry skies that we have here. As it is darker earlier in the winter, there is more opportunity to do a bit of stargazing. On a good night you can clearly see the Milky Way!

Tips for a Warm Winter Stay

• Pack layered clothing and waterproof boots and coats.
• Plan your activities - we have a great blog full of wet weather activity ideas or visit our explore page
• Bring your favorite books or board games for the longer evenings.
• Embrace the slower pace — read, rest,and reconnect with nature.

What Our Guests Say About Winter at Larkhill

 An excellent find, not too remote but far enough away from noise allowing you to relax. The log burner was brilliant and really kept us warm and cosy. The facilities were enough to allow us to cook and shower and the toilet was clean - a great couple of nights stay. We will return.

 Hosts Fran & Tony were brilliant. Excellent glamping experience. Stayed in a Ger in the woods, which was very cosy, comfortable & well kitted out. Wood burning stove inside for heating & a fire pit outside. Around the latter of which our evenings were mainly spent, enjoying log fires under a canopy of trees, most enjoyable stay, simply magical.

 We had a wonderful stay in early November 2022. Our first time here and certainly won't be our last! Everything from the Yurt, the facilities. Fran was ever so helpful and friendly. My 5 year old daughter absolutely loved it too. She's been asking when we can come back. Would (and have) highly recommended Larkhill to friends. Such a wonderful place to be!
