UK to India!

From our yurts in Wales to a houseboat in India!

Inspiration for our glamping site has come from many different cultures around the world.  We have traveled extensively, including a 9 month trip overland in a campervan to India back in the early 1980’s, which encompassed Europe, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal. Most of our time was spent in India and Nepal - both amazing countries, the people and their ‘can do’ ethos, their way of life and beliefs, the food and the bright colours. 

Which is why, after 40 long years, we decided that  a return trip was needed to get a little bit of magic and creativity back.  So in November we closed the doors of our yurt holidays in wales and headed for southern India, this time by air rather than overland! 

And it didn’t fail!  The temples, the carvings, the art, the colourful sarees,  everywhere - colour.  Something we seem to be so lacking in this country!  We roamed and explored for three weeks (not long enough!) from waterways to tea plantations to cities and beaches - a real variety of environments. 

So a nice little temple, tucked away in the woodland - well that’s something to aim for - and we may well give it a very vibrant colour!!
