Glamping in a Yurt in West Wales This Autumn

Glamping in a yurt allows you to immerse yourself in the outdoors whilst also enjoying some home comforts! If you're considering a glamping adventure in a yurt this autumn, why not one in beautiful West Wales? Here’s a guide to ensure a fantastic experience.

Clothing Essentials

Autumn can be quite chilly and unpredictable, making it essential to pack the right clothing for your yurt stay:

  • Waterproof Gear: A waterproof coat and boots are must-haves.
  • Comfortable Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots are perfect for exploring the area, while comfy slippers or warm socks will work well inside the yurt.
  • Warm Accessories: Hats, scarves, warm jacket and gloves to keep you warm during those cool evenings spent outside around the campfire.

What should I bring?

At Larkhill we try to cover as many eventualities as we can so you don’t have to overpack the car.

  • Sleeping Bag/Bedding: Our yurts have beds and comfortable mattresses, but we ask that, if possible, guests bring their own bedding. If this isn’t feasible we can supply bedding at an extra cost.
  • Towels. Despite being off grid we have hot showers here at Larkhill, please bring your own towels.
  • Torch. Although there are fairy lights adorning most of the outside paths at night you may want to bring a torch to explore in the dark!
  • Food and Drinks

Cooking and Dining

Our yurts include basic facilities, but we do have a communal log cabin with a bigger area and more facilities. We provide the following.

  • A cool box to keep your food fresh. We provide replacement Ice packs every morning.
  • All Utensils: plates, cups, cutlery, pots, pans, cheese graters, tea pots, cafetieres, etc… you’ll be able to find everything in our log cabin.
  • A basket of firewood awaits you in the yurt (extra baskets are £5 for a jumbo bucket) and we supply firelighters.
  • A chest full of blankets.
  • Local Produce: Don’t miss out on local Welsh specialities like cheese and bread to savor during your glamping experience. We have our own honey and eggs to sell and we can recommend the best places to buy local produce during your stay.

Entertainment and Activities

There’s lots to see and do during Autumn in West Wales

  • Great for walks - whether you're exploring nature, visiting castles or the coast, the colours of Autumn here are truly fantastic. We thoroughly recommend a walk along the banks of the River Teifi in Cenarth or waterfall hunting at the beautiful Fynnone.
  • There are so many family days out in West Wales to choose from. From Folly Farm to the Dinosaur Park. We have the fantastic Llandsyul Paddlers not far away who offer a great selection of outdoor activities.
  • Many come to simply escape from their busy lives and stay put in a cosy yurt. Think books, hot chocolate and marshmallows by the campfire with a warm blanket for a relaxing retreat. We do have a selection of board games in the log cabin.
  • We love our natural environment here. There’s so much to explore in the woodland, be it finding different types of fungi, listening to birdsong, making dens, just lazing in a hammock or stargazing at night. Download the app ‘Merlin’ before you arrive to identify birdsong and maybe bring binoculars to locate birds in the trees.

Check out our 'Explore Page' for other attraction/places to visit idea.

With these essentials in mind, your glamping experience in a yurt this autumn in West Wales will be comfortable, enjoyable, and truly unforgettable!
